Soul vs KTF…. The all zerg team Soul takes on the insane mix of skill known as KTF. Nothing more to say, on to the games!
Game 1: Love[3.0.DOM](KTF) vs Gyuntae(Soul) on Bladestorm
Love started at 5:00, while Gyuntae started at 8:00, putting the two at the closest spots on the map. The two players' overlords both went up, and Love sent a drone to scout as well. This paid off for Love, as Gyuntae went for a spawning pool on 9. Love followed with a pool of his own slightly later than Gyuntae. The two players would both follow with gas and a 2nd hatchery.
Gyuntae's 6 lings hatched and they made their way to Love's base. Love had his own 6 lings out just as Gyuntae entered his main. The two players danced their lings, and set them against each other after they were satisfied with their positioning.
Gyuntae's 6 lings pulled a crushing victory over Love's 6 lings, winning the battle with just one loss. However he was forced to run, at the sight of 4 freshly hatched lings, as his own lings were heavily injured. The early game ended with Gyuntae having a slightly faster lair, while the drone numbers didn't seem to differ much.
After both spires were morphing, Gyuntae decided to pressure Love with his speedlings, leaving the two players to dance their lings with Love's ramp as the border. No direct fighting occurred, and Gyuntae backed off as his spire completed and his mutas started hatching.
Love pumped a few more lings and tried to attack and Gyuntae while he was short a few lings from his spire units. He defeated Gyuntae's lings at his ramp, and even forced their way into Gyuntae's main to kill 2 drones before the mutalisks killed them. Love and Gyuntae went for similar mixes, mainly mutas and some few scourge mixed in.
Having the initial lead in the air race, Gyuntae expanded to his gas natural. And soon after, he assembled a
muta/scourge force for an attack.
The two player's forces were similar in number and composition, but Gyuntae emerged the victor with a crushing advantage in forces. He had 4 mutas left over, more than enough to cement in his advantage. All Love could do was try a ling counter, which was easily crushed. Love conceded to Gyuntae, handing Soul the advantage.

Soul selected Nada as their next opponent
Game 2: Nada(KTF) vs Chojja(Soul) on Plains to Hill D
Chojja would start at 8:00, and Nada at 2:00 for this long awaited rematch. Chojja started with the Plains zerg order, going 12 hatch at his 3 way choke, pool, and then 3rd hatch at his natural. Nada started with a little advantage, using an SCV to delay the 3rd hatchery a bit. Nada opened with 2 rax and then a factory after gas. After that he went academy and starport, doing the marine elevator build he has shown a few times recently.
Chojja went spire after 3 hatcheries, and added speedlings in preparation for dropships. Nada soon had his dropship and 16 M&M, and he was ready go attack.
Though normally speedlings can prevent dropships from dropping their troops, Nada dropped his troops in a tight corner by the minerals at Chojja's natural. Having firebats and medics drop off first, he cleared the way for the rest of his troops. Chojja promptly abandoned his natural and tried to adapt.
After his mutalisks came out, Chojja expanded to the 5:00 main. He teched to lurkers later, while continuing to make many mutas and speedlings. In the meanwhile, Nada was up to 3 rax in his main and upgrading +1 attack. He also stimmed his M&M at Chojja's natural and made a quick getaway, saving all of them.
Nada continued his stomping of Chojja, sending off dropships to both 5:00 and the zerg main. The 5:00 drop arrived while the hatchery was building, and Nada waited for it to complete. That would be a mistake on Nada's part, as the marines were unable to kill the hatchery before zerglings arrived to save it. The drop to the main went better, as the marines destroyed the spire and many drones, though not quite as many as they could have because of some lack of attention on Nada's part.
After getting his 2nd vessel, Nada decided it was time to end the game. He had a great amount of M&M, over 2 control groups, and they had +1 attack. Nada started a CC at his natural while his forces moved out into the middle.
Though Chojja had many muta/ling, he was not willing to try and destroy Nada's force. Instead, he performed a counter attack on Nada's main as the M&M were nearing his main. Nada thought about it for a second or two, and decided to go for an elimination race. Sending his 2 vessels back to his main, he floated his buildings while rushing in with his M&M.
Nada made short work of Chojja's main, while Chojja did the same to Nada's. Nada snuck an SCV into a dropship, and flew it around in order to make half completed supply depots on the map while floating his buildings everywhere.
Bad decision making on Nada's part, as the result of his actions was he having no bases, and Chojja in possession of 5:00. While lurkers had hatched a bit too late to save his main, Chojja had enough lurkers to prevent a reckless attack on 5:00. He sent his mutas around the map, searching for buildings, while building up in his main.
Though Nada had 2 vessels, they could not recharge many fast enough to keep continue to kill Chojja's lurkers as they hatched. The situation got worse for Nada, and it became apparently that he should have tried a wild attack earlier on, instead of waiting as he had done.
Nada's forced were at the same number, while Chojja's forces kept increasing. After losing his M&M in an ill-fated final battle, Nada surrendered to Chojja.

Soul selected Autumn as their next opponent
Game 3: Autumn(KTF) vs Junior(Soul) on Dark Sauron
Autumn started out at 11:00, while Junior started at 2:00. As they were at some of the closer spots on the map, Junior opted for a 12 pool quick speed build, while Autumn went 2 gates with late gas, keeping up on the zealot numbers.
Though Autumn kept his zealot numbers high, he was unable to pressure Junior. Junior had added 2 more hatcheries, one at his ramp and another at his expansion. Only when he had a large amount of zealots, about 10 in this case, was Autumn comfortable with leaving his base.
Junior had not skimped on lings, he wasn't taking any risks. He built a sunken on his ramp, while researching burrow for his lings as well. Autumn's zealots walked into Junior's natural only to find them self surrounded on all sides as speedlings popped up from behind them. Though Junior probably didn't need burrow to surround Autumn, he bought himself 100/100 worth of convenience and style points.
Junior tried to end the game there, but Autumn's zealots at his ramp proved to be hardier than expected, so Junior left. He made the drones he had been unable to pump early on, while teching. He did not take another base until much later, adding a hatchery at the 5:00 natural while pumping mutas.
Despite taking the early zealot loss, Autumn met little resistance as he took his own natural. He didn't look like he was in terrible shape, having templars and a respectable amount of units. Junior's mutas arrived to see some hardy base defenses, so Junior switched to lurkers while going on to take the 5:00 main.
Autumn's unit production was something to see, because he had a great amount of units. After adding sufficient archons to his force, he tried a stab at Junior's natural. However, Junior had made lurkers in the meanwhile and forced Autumn to wait for observers. Junior pulled a cute move, using his mutas and 2 lurkers to counter Autumn while he was out.
Junior kept his unit count low, relying on lurkers and sunkens for defense. He teched up to hive, and a greater spire, ultralisk cavern, and 3 evolution chambers could be seen morphing.
With his obs out, Autumn was on the offensive again. The one thing that could be noticed about his force though, was that it had almost no templars. It was composed of mostly zealots and dragoons, with several archons supporting. First heading toward Junior's natural, Autumn thought it would be prudent to try for a base with less sunkens and lurkers. He switched his path and made his way to the 5:00 base.
The critical battle in the game took place on the high ground above the 5:00 natural. Autumn's forces were getting together, preparing for their charge into Junior's expansion. But he was met with an unexpected obstacle, several cocoons just outside the entrance into the natural.
The fight was on between the dragoons and guardians, as Junior tried to use the flying advantage to take up a better position, while Autumn tried to nullify that with micro. While the guardians and goons danced with each other, cracklings and ultralisks were arriving to offer their help.
Instead of trying for a cost effective victory, Junior got fed up and overwhelmed Autumn by sending streams of cracks at him while throwing his guardians head on versus the dragoons. The game entered its final stage, as zerg now had 4 bases running safely, and toss lacking a main army.
And that's all, Autumn just died to ultras and cracks. Yawn -_-

Soul selected Yellow as their next opponent
Game 4: Yellow(KTF) vs TheWind on The Lost Temple
Yellow started at 6, while TheWind started at 9. The two players scouted each other quickly, and were able to get an idea of what their opponent was doing from the start. The two players quickly built their 2nd hatcheries at their expansions, letting each other off with the otherwise risky strat.
Feeling some safety in the long distance by land between the two bases, TheWind pulled a daring move, he built a 3rd hatchery at his expansion. Before pool. In the meanwhile Yellow had gone gas and then pool, and was probably expecting such a move from TheWind at seeing his very late pool.
Yellow choose not to try an early ling attack, seeing that TheWind would have enough units to defend by the time his ling got there. Instead he played it safe, relying on his much faster lair to give him a future advantage. He tried a poke with a few lings, using his quicker speed upgrade, but TheWind defended well using his slow zerglings. The players hesitated to mine gas from their expansions, knowing the heavy cost the extra drones might bring.
Yellow's spire was up much faster than TheWind's. TheWind did not want to make any spore colonies, so he decided to use his larger amount of lings to buy a distraction while he waited for his spire to complete. However, this worked well into Yellow's plan. Yellow had made few lings, but many sunks to compensate. It was not TheWind that was pressuring Yellow with his superior ground forces, but it was Yellow forcing TheWind to use his lings.
The sunkens and lings at Yellow's base held out admirably, while the first few mutas from Yellow's flew a very short distance to slaughter TheWind's drones. Fortunately for TheWind, it was only a few mutas at the time, and they were slow at dealing their damage. Nonetheless, TheWind took heavy drone losses, and the 3 hatchery advantage was gone.
Yellow finished the game with a smart move, pumping heavy lings. TheWind had overcompensated for mutas by making too many scourge, and his ground was seriously lacking. Yellow destroyed the 2 hatcheries at TheWind's natural, and soon had air superiority as well. TheWind conceded to Yellow.
Yellow defeated TheWind

Game 5: ArtOfHan vs Jju on Bladestorm
The two players started close to each other, Jju at 11:00 and Han at 2:00. Han was able to do a standard 2 rax acad build, while Jju went for a 12 pool build considering the close distances. He would follow up with a 2nd hatchery and a quick lair, going for lurker/ling.
The early game passed uneventfully, and soon it was time for terran to do their usual mid game threat, using their first academy units + marines. Jju decided that such a typical practice should not pass uneventfully, and prepared a surprise for Han. Jju had kept his drone numbers low, while making many lings. His plan for these lings was revealed, as he burrowed them on the road leading into his main.
As Han walked towards Jju's base, it looked like Jju's plan might fail. Rather than go directly to Jju's main, Han simply walked near the center in order to show Jju his forces, and it seemed that he was going to turn back. Jju saved the situation by flashing a small group of speedlings at Han's M&M. Terran units, and their users are inclined to give chase for a small distance, and that was exactly what Jju had needed.
Though not completely on top of the lings, the M&M moved right next to the burrowed lings. Jju quickly unburrowed, and made a quick end to the M&M. Han saved himself from losing right there by placing 2 firebats at his ramp.
Lurkers were soon to be hatched, and Han was definitely feeling pressured. Instead of trying to defend for the time being and look for a later opening, he decided to apply some pressure of his own. Before the lurkers were morphed, Han made a small push into the middle with a handful of firebats, medics, and marines.
This was not a good choice for Han, as the lurker/ling mix swallowed up those units whole in the center. Without even a bunker for defense, Han was helpless against the masses of lings accompanied by lurkers as they streamed into his base. Han surrendered to Jju, giving Soul the crushing 4:1 victory.
